Lorenzo is the mayor of a small town in the north of Italy. He finds Ghigo, a well-known playboy, in bed with his beautiful wife and threatens the two with a gun, causing the man a heart attack. Lorenzo helps Ghigo to get cured but the guy immediately needs to rest if he wants to recover, so he decides to black settle down in the mayor’s house, or he will tell to the whole city about the lady’s infidelity.
