Istanbul, beginning of XX century. The Sultan marries Safiyè, choosing her as his favourite concubine, a status that gives her full power and influence inside the harem. When the Revolution of Young Turks wipes out the Empire and the Sultan runs away, Safiyè loses all her privileges and will need to for her life.
