In the 1500s, the villainous Dutchman, Van Gould, serving the Spanish Crown, kills the Count of Ventimiglia and has his three sons shipped off on a slave galleon for the Americas. They escape and become the Red, Green and Black Corsairs. And it is the Black Corsair who engages Van Gould in an all out epic duel. He kills the blackguard… and, why not, wins the Viceroy’s beautiful daughter. Mario Soldati’s flamboyant direction makes it fun. Shame it isn’t in color.
